Maintenance:
The maintenance interval depends on local atmospheric contamination.
The differential pressure gauge gives a constant indication of the filter
condition, and if left unattended the differential pressure will rise
to xxxx mmwg. The pressure switch will then trip, and the alarm will
be sound (if connected).
Cleaning:
The polyester filter cartridges can be cleaned and reused a number of
times.
The motor must be stopped when cleaning the filter elements
Remove the filter elements from the dust collector. The filter element
can be cleaned using a water jet.
-
Before
cleaning each element, it should be inspected thoroughly to check
for damage to the filter media or metal / plastic parts. If any damage
has occurred, the cartridges must be disposed of and replaced.
- Use a high-pressure
water jet (maximum pressure 50 bar), standing at a distance of at least
50cm from the element concerned
- A sulphur
free detergent may be used if necessary.
- Allow the
filter to dry thoroughly
- Re-inspect
the filter cartridges to ensure that no damage has occurred during the
washing process, and check the filter media for signs of wear and ageing.
Replace any cartridges which show signs of media weakness or damage
to the metal parts.
A reading should
be taken from the pressure differential gauge both before and after each
cleaning process. If cleaning has been carried out correctly, the gauge
will register a lower reading after cleaning.
